Meet our school nurse

Shannon Nardo, MSN, RN, CPON

Hi! I’m the school nurse here at Marbrook, and have been taking care of our Dolphins for the last 3 years! Whether it’s a scraped knee, a tummy ache, or just someone who needs a little comfort during the day, I’m here to help. I work with teachers and parents to make sure our kids stay healthy, happy, and ready to learn. I feel so lucky to be a part of the Marbrook community and genuinely enjoy seeing the students each day!

Before becoming a school nurse, I worked as a nurse at Nemours Children’s Hospital, and I gained valuable experience caring for patients of all ages. For 13 years I cared for children with cancer and blood disorders as well as diabetes and a range of numerous other illnesses. Prior to coming to school nursing I was working in an outpatient setting at the hospital caring for kids requiring infusions for chronic illnesses or kids that needs to be sedated for medical procedures. And now I still work casual at Nemours on the hematology/oncology unit. I’ve loved working with kids for as long as I can remember, and I hope to finish out my career as a school nurse! Now I get to combine my love for nursing and children every day (with summers off), and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!
